The air around us holds millions upon millions of particles that until made visible by the transmission of light refracting against their surfaces, remains invisible. Similarly, the galaxies beyond exist merely as dust until we can apply tools to see and measure them. In the spirit of discovery of the unknown, Dust is intended as a kind of representation of the ephemeral material of the universe.

Design constaints for this piece required that the work fit into a narrow footprint along the property line. The client wanted a screen to obscure the view into the adjacent property. As an accomplished gardener, the client was interested in a work that would look good with plants growing on it, but the piece also needed to be sculpturally satisfying in winter.
